Return to other love letters/hate mail From: Darryl Cotton dcotton@schofield-media.com Sent: Thu 10/14/2004 Subject: .25 Minutes of Fame OK you were heard. Any idiot can make spectacle of herself in a public square and get noticed. I am not a fan, nor hater of Jessie Jr; but with this attempt you are simply wasting our valuable attention time. Read most of your positions, and where you stand...well I guess even a chimpanzee has beliefs. I don't mean to be insulting, but you seem to have the "angry white male" syndrome. Save it for Bill 'Reilly, and Sean Hannity. Attacking this Senator in the way you have will NOT get you heard....only disliked. Maybe the right battle in some aspects...but DEFINITELY the WRONG MAN. Darryl A. Cotton Sales Manager Schofield Media LTD Stephanie Kennedy Sailor responds... Hi Darryl, Thanks for your message. Being that I'm an accessible candidate, I always provide at least one initial response to any email I receive from the public, even if my viewpoints differ from the sender. You won’t get this kind of accessibility from Jesse Jackson, Jr., and he gets paid via taxpayer dollars to read messages from the public!
Rest assured that I don't subscribe to the "angry while male" syndrome. In fact, I am such an unsubscriber of this syndrome that, though I recognize you, Darryl, are quite angry, I know you don't represent all males. I am also aware that you probably aren't always angry. Your current condition may be purely momentary, as a result of investigating my campaign. As for your skin color, I'm not sure what it is, but that's irrelevant, for, again, I don't adhere to the so-called "angry white male" syndrome. I like men from all walks of life – of any age, any melanin level – as long as they are respectful towards others. I know lots of kind "white" and/or "black" men who fit this profile.
If my campaign is a waste of your time, please don't pay attention to it. Don't read about it, don’t visit my website, don't email me, and don't
take the time to listen to me (except for reading this email right now – after
all, it's a response to your initial message).I'm not sure why you think I am famous, but I'm the furthest thing from that. Clearly, as I've demonstrated, it doesn't take a celebrity to run for office. Even you, Darryl Cotton, could run for office. In fact, I advise you to do so, for you certainly feel strongly about the matter. I encourage you to select the right man to run against, rather than the “WRONG MAN,” and launch a campaign against any status quo politician out there. Thanks again for your message. Your insightful words should be heard by others. I will post a copy of your email on my website, as I am a believer of presenting all viewpoints. Best, Stephanie Kennedy Sailor, P.S. Jesse Jackson, Jr. isn’t a "Senator" – he is a Representative in U.S. Congress. --back to top-- Return to other love letters/hate mail |
