The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Both father and son Jackson want to help the poor and promote racial harmony. Unquestionably, that’s a praiseworthy cause. But the way in which the Jacksons go about trying to accomplish their goal is highly questionable. In fact, most of the Jacksons’ tactics are rotten to the core. Says Kenneth Timmerman, author of Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson: [Jesse Jackson] calls himself an advocate for "the poor" -- but lives more lavishly than the CEOs from whose companies he extorts millions.
Black victimization is big business for the Jackson Dynasty. They have it down to a 3-step formula: 1. Jesse Jackson threatens to organize boycotts against corporation X, labeling them as “racist” unless they give money to his Operation PUSH or other groups. 2. If X, Inc. doesn’t cough up the money, then JJ activates his rent-a-mob to engage in a publicity stunt, rallying against the chosen corporation. 3. Fearing being branded with the scarlet letter “R” for racism, the corporation will usually cave in, writing huge checks to Jesse Jackson’s "tax-exempt" "non-profit” groups. That’s hardly promoting racial harmony. Though a hefty income (untaxed) does promote an extravagant lifestyle for the Jackson Family, including limos, lavish homes, sweetheart stock deals, big private bank accounts, first-class travel, private schools and the best universities for his children. Mychal Massie asks Jesse Jackson supporters to "name 10 things Jesse Jackson has done to tangibly help the black people he claims to represent." The answer? Nothing. Stephanie Kennedy Sailor wants to help blacks, minorities, and the underprivileged to have better lives. But she knows that shaking down companies is not the way to create racial harmony. If anything, extortion breeds contempt and divisiveness. The way to truly help people is to give them access to a competitive education. A good education leads to good jobs. When you have the skills to compete in the working world, then you can move forward instead of falling behind. Stephanie Kennedy Sailor challenges Jesse Jackson, Jr. to prove Mychal Massie wrong, and do something tangible to help the people he claims to represent. She asks that Jesse Jackson, Jr. return his stolen fruit back to the people, and give back by giving to The Jessica Fund. --back to top-- |
